Swiss born Marcel Widmer learned to Scuba Dive in 1979 when he moved to Australia to fulfill his life long dream of discovering the underwater world. Photography has always been a hobby of his and he soon acquired a keen interest in taking this art and new challenge below the surface.

Nowadays he is an accomplished underwater photographer always looking for new angles and techniques to capture the unique and fascinating marine life of our oceans…


Marcel's Images have been awarded in National and International Competitions and his Photos and Articles have been published in Magazines, Books and Advertising. Marcel has traveled on assignments to Thailand, Burma, Fiji, Bali, Komodo Island, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.

He has obtained a Diploma in Freelance Photography from the Australian College of Journalism, is a member of the Australian News Syndicate and offers Underwater Photography and Diving courses as active PADI Instructor with the rating of Master Scuba Diver Trainer.
